TY - JOUR JO - EuroIntervention TI - A novel method to quantitate bioprosthetic valve leaflet mechanical stress: a numerical and in vitro study AB -
An original in vitro/in silico method was developed to estimate the local and global mechanical stress applied on the bioprosthetic valve leaflet, which can be important for better understanding of the valve durability. A non-contact system based on stereophotogammetry and digital image correlation enabled filming and studying the valve leaflet movement frame by frame and performing three-dimensional analysis. The deformation was applied in a finite element model in order to calculate the local mechanical stress applied. High stress regions were primarily observed in the upper leaflet edge and belly and to a lesser extent at the free leaflet edge.
AU - Stanová Viktória AU - Godio Raboutet Yves AU - Masson Catherine AU - Py Max AU - Barragan Paul AU - Thollon Lionel AU - Rieu Régis AU - Pibarot Philippe VL - 15 IS - 7 Y1 - 20/09/2019 Y1 - 2019 DOI - 10.4244/EIJ-D-19-00327 SP - 581 EP - 585 KW - other KW - tavi KW - clinical research KW - miscellaneous KW - innovation PB - Europa Digital & Publishing SE - Interventions for valvular disease and heart failure UR - https://eurointervention.pcronline.com/article/a-novel-method-to-quantitate-bioprosthetic-valve-leaflet-mechanical-stress-a-numerical-and-in-vitro-study SN - 1774-024X ER -
