TY - JOUR JO - EuroIntervention TI - Severe calcified paravalvular leak: usefulness of intravascular lithotripsy technology AB - A 66-year-old female with heart failure was referred for a severe mitral regurgitation (MR) by a paravalvular-leak (PVL). She underwent four mitral-valve replacements (Sorin-Bicarbon-25), three PVL-percutaneous-closures, and transcatheter-aortic-valve-implantation (CoreValve-31mm-Medtronic-USA). Transesophageal-echocardiogram showed severe circumferential calcification of mitral-annulus and two PVLs: the first, in an anteromedial position, caused trivial regurgitation; the second one, in a posterolateral position, caused severe MR. We planned to close the posterolateral-PVL for its hemodynamic significance.  AU - Ricottini Elisabetta AU - Carpenito Myriam AU - Mega Simona AU - Ussia Paolo Gian VL - IS - Y1 - 21/07/2020 Y1 - 2020 DOI - 10.4244/EIJ-D-20-00392 SP - KW - mitral regurgitation KW - paravalvular leak KW - specific closure device / technique PB - Europa Digital & Publishing UR - https://eurointervention.pcronline.com/article/severe-calcified-paravalvular-leak-usefulness-of-intravascular-lithotripsy-technology SN - 1774-024X ER -
